ECOOM-Entrepreneurship-Ghent regularly carries out the sustainability barometer on behalf of the Department of Work, Economy, Science, Innovation and Social Economy (WEWIS) of the Flemish Government. Sustainable entrepreneurship is a way of doing business in which, in addition to economic goals, ecological and social goals are also given the necessary attention. Companies that do business sustainably can contribute to the transition to a more sustainable society in this way. The sustainability barometer is based on a large-scale survey of +/- 1,500 Flemish SMEs. It maps the drivers and barriers of sustainable entrepreneurship, knowledge about sustainable entrepreneurship, sustainable goals and behaviour, as well as the implementation and impact of sustainable behaviour in Flemish SMEs. The comparison of the results of this sustainability barometer with the previous sustainability barometers allows the evolution of sustainable behaviour in Flemish SMEs to be monitored.
