ECOOM-Entrepreneurship-Ghent conducts research into various aspects of emerging entrepreneurship. Particular attention is paid to factors that complicate or facilitate the step towards entrepreneurship or the entrepreneurship process. In the past, for example, research was conducted into the extent to which shocking events in someone's professional or personal life influence the transition from intrapreneurship to entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the effect of various types of fear of failure on the time investment, well-being, and strategic choices of active entrepreneurs was studied. The role of financial knowledge has also received attention.
